Project for creating a floating unit

The proposed creation of a pedestrian link between the Boat Dock and the Pier of the Commune, is based on the logic of the continuity of the pedestrian walkway on the banks of the lake, as an extension of the sprawling Place of the Navigation in Ouchy. It is a matter of embellishing and completing the attraction and comfort infrastructure relating to the lake, by the creation of a link, which responds to the discontinuity between the two sections of the lake promenade.
The project will install a floating unit on the lake, reinstituting this missing link in the continuity of the banks of the lake and adding to the attractiveness of the place of the Navigation.
‘Medusa’ is a nimble intervention that floats independently between the CGM coast road and the coast guard building.
It is designed to transport people and operates without stewardship. The embarkation and disembarkation of passengers are fully automated.
Having its own propulsion system, the object is capable of carrying up to 20 people per 85 m trip at an average speed of 3km/h. The trajectory is entirely free of all encumbrances to traffic. The installation is also virtually maintenance free.
