‘A pleat on the scale of the territory’
Integration of the territory: a crease on the same scale as the topography of the space.
An urban framework and the cliff's omnipresence, the tightening of the valley. As a balance, the charm of the garden opposite the buildings of the Tuilerie. A gesture that embraces and brings together school activities, sports, and culture. A reasoned marriage between collective independent and complementary uses. The visual perspectives and tangible limits of the buildings escape from the rigor of the educational spaces. Multiple perceptions emerge, giving off rhythms and sequences from near and far.
The inclusion in the city: a garden as a seam and an urban link
Answer to the specific nature of site, of the cliff, in accentuating the bottom of the valley by an intense orientation, a ’creasing of the façade’ that embodies its relation to the garden. Distancing the academic complex and the future condition of the Tuilerie buildings. Find an urban coherence to the group of buildings, in placing the athletic complex in the framework of the site. Juxtapose to the existing buildings a new period of construction, connected by an extension of the existing levels.
Regroup in a homogeneous complex the different academic, athletic, and cultural activities, giving each part of the program functional autonomy.
