Redevelopment of a Public Space / 2nd phase

Do not put an extra object in the place
The specificity of a place, a public space equipped with urinals having a motley aspect, implies to find a material logic and a form of identity, suited to the place. It’s a matter of not contributing to the overstatement, but clarifying the system.
This projects goal is thus to preserve and amplify the anteriority of the ‘green’ presence on the site, at the exact perimeter of the intervention.
The « Navigation » place is divided into two segments: the meeting place and the boat place. At the exact spot where these two zones are articulated – an intermediate space without proper definition.
The project proposes to restructure the greenery that surrounds it; reinforcing and organizing its termination.
It is as a specific response to this urban logic that the organization of the plan finds its center. This dialogue infers, on one part and another, from the structuring « stop » of the public urinal, a public-service space and a service space. Back to back, they define the zones.
The concept of this project can be translated by a physical “absent - presence”. Its disposition on an angle, translates two faces of the public urinal. One mineral and clinical, the other ‘green’ that extends and completes the vegetal structure of the space.
